Bathroom Art Attracts a Crowd

An exhibit of the Porcelain Project at the Malibu Lumber Yard includes old toilets and sinks turned into artwork. The pieces will be auctioned later this year, with the proceeds supporting the Malibu Library.

About 50 people stopped by the Porcelain Project exhibit, which included old toilets and sinks transformed into artwork, on Sunday at the Malibu Lumber Yard. The event, put on by the and a team led by City Council member Pamela Conley Ulich, also included wine and cheese as well as chocolate from the , whose owner Seda Baghdasari showed some of her paintings at the exhibit. 

The bathroom items are from the , which is being redesigned, and will reopen in December. Two of the art pieces will be displayed at the Michael Landon Center at . Michael Landon's widow Cindy Landon will choose which pieces will go there. Later, more artwork will be displayed at local businesses. Toward the end of the year, the artwork will be auctioned, with the proceeds supporting the Malibu Library.
