Update: Fire at Encinal and Mulholland

No structures were threatened and the fire was knocked down at 1:15 p.m.

1:43 p.m., Update: Around two acres of brush burned before fire crews managed to knock down the fire, said Matt Levesque, fire inspector with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“The fire was knocked down at 1:15 p.m.” Levesque said. Crews will remain on scene until any threat of a potential recurrence is contained. They will  create a firebreak around the perimeter, he said.

A firebreak is a space between what has already burned and any vegetation that may reignite.
