Firefighters Quickly Douse Fire

Flames are contained to brush only and extinguished in about an hour.

Los Angeles County firefighters put out a quarter-acre brush fire in Ramirez Canyon in Malibu on Saturday.

Firefighters were sent to an area not far from Pacific Coast Highway at Kanan-Dume Road at 9:59 a.m. Saturday and had the fire out at 10:47 a.m., a county fire dispatcher said.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, she said.

A helicopter helped douse the flames in under in an hour, according to reports from the scene.

The cause was under investigation.
