Malibu High Golf Team Finishes Up Season
The sharks finished in sixth place in the last Tri-Valley tournament of the year.
Malibu Golf Club hosted Malibu High School and the other five teams for the last Tri-Valley League tournament of the year on Tuesday.
The sharks finished in sixth place shooting a 466 as a team. Oaks Christian placed first in the tournament (380) followed by Oak Park (417), Grace Brethren (446), St Bonaventure (448), Nordoff (464) and Malibu (466).
The Malibu Golf tournament results mirror the final league standings. Victor Ponte of Oaks Christian was the medalist of all six TVL events and was named the TVL player of the year averaging 71. The Lions had five of the top 10 players in league overall.

Sophomore Josh Corrigan was the Sharks best player in league matches, averaging a 90.0, followed closely by Senior Jack Platner with an average of 90.7.
For the year, Malibu High had a low nine hole score of 207 at Viewpoint, a high score of 271 at Villanova and an average nine hole score of 236. That equals out to just over 11 strokes above par on nine holes for the team.

Senior Sadler Semkin and Junior Vinnie Van Patten showed great improvement over the course of the season. Sadler shot a low of 41, par 35 vs NPAA and Vinnie shot a low of 90, par 72 at Rustic Canyon.
