'The Illusion' Gets Top Billing on Council Ballot
The order of the ballot for the Malibu City Council election was determined by a random draw.
When Malibu voters take a look at their City Council election ballot, they will see Hamish Patterson's name on the top of the list of candidates. The man who goes by "Malibu Hamish" and "The Illusion" was selected in a random draw by the California Secretary of State's Office to be the first name on the ballot, according to the Malibu City Clerk's office. The ballot says Patterson is a carpenter.
The rest of the order of the names and their occupations is:
Skylar Peak, Business Owner
Hans Laetz, Reporter/Environmental Analyst
Andy Lyon, Realtor/Actor
Joan House, Retired Teacher
K. "Missy" Zeitsoff, Teacher
John W. Sibert, Scientist/Administrator
The top three vote-getters in the election will win seats on the council. Sibert is the only incumbent in the race. Election Day is April 10. The last day to register to vote is March 26.

Jonathan, do you know where Harnish's YouTube Channel is? I was told that he has a must-watch video out entitled something like "Who Am I"? I'd like to watch it . . .

While I'm looking forward to seeing this "Who Am I" video, and will certainly look it up - I *do* know about this link, when Hamish shot a video related to a protest of the lagoon demolition, which was last APRIL.
Last night at City Council, City Councilmember Sibert seemed to indicate he thought our Save Malibu Lagoon "campaign" only began last month.
He was not paying attention? Look at all of the people in this video!
Hamish Patterson noticed!

I thought that was an excellent meeting last night. I did not get the same impression as you about John Sibert's statements. Nice to see everyone express their views!

I find it highly unlikely John Sibert believes the campaign began last month.

I agree that it is unlikely John Sibert thinks the Save Malibu Lagoon campaign started just this last month, but when Pamela Conley Ulich asked him why he was all of the sudden calling for an independent study, he said something about the campaign of this last month. When she interpreted that to mean the city council election campaign, he got visibly upset "I resent that!" he said, so, I don't know what campaign of this last month he was speaking about!! ??

I just listened to the official Malibu Patch Recording. This is what he said: “What’s happened in the last month is this whole campaign moving forward with misstatements from all sides and I want to see it cleared. That’s all I’m trying to do.”

This just in: He then says moments later after PCU accuses him of doing this for the election campaign that he misunderstood her, and he was discussing "this campaign of the folks who are opposing the lagoon [I assume he meant lagoon project]" Those two statements are somewhat inconsistent. I will ask him what he meant.
