Professional surfer Dave Rostavich and his crew from TransparentSea will be at the on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. for a screening of the new documentary Minds in the Water, which shows the efforts of Rostavich and others to protect whales and dolphins.
The event will also feature a concert with Band of Frequencies, an art show and an auction. Tickets are $15. Money raised at the event will support Surfers for Cetaceans and other charities.
The TransparentSea crew is on a journey this month that follows the southern migration of the California gray whale. It began in Santa Barbara and will conclude near the U.S./Mexico border on Oct. 25.
