For Our Oceans - Join Marmalade Café to Support Malibu's Sea Save Foundation

To celebrate International Surfing Day, Marmalade Café will host an event benefitting Sea Save Foundation on Saturday, June 21. This red carpet affair, complete with “step and repeat” photo option, will run from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the café’s Malibu location. Fifteen percent of the profits will support sustainability efforts.

“We need to raise awareness about critical issues facing our oceans before it’s too late,” says Sea Save Foundation (SSF) director Georgienne Bradley. “SSF has won multiple victories, including national and international policy mandates. Our current campaign lineup is both ambitious and exciting. We want to invite our Malibu neighbors to join us and be part of our future victories.”

SSF works to protect the oceans by raising international awareness and promoting public policy changes, including the passage of a bill to make the possession of shark fins illegal in California. SSF also played a role in extending protection to five threatened marine species at the Conference of International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES) in Bangkok.

The fundraising event falls on the weekend of International Surfing Day, an unofficial holiday with an emphasis on marine conservation. Marmalade Café, located near one of the most popular surfing beaches in California, is an integral part of the local scene and promises to attract ocean-loving celebrities for the benefit.

Due to the popularity of this event, reservations are suggested. Call (310) 317-4242.
