Chris Brown Was Kicked Out of Malibu Rehab Center

A probation report from Brown's assault of ex-girlfriend Rihanna reveals the R&B singer threw a rock through his mother's car window when she visited him in rehab.

Singer Chris Brown, who is still on probation for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and was arrested last month for allegedly punching a man in Washington, D.C., was ordered by a Los Angeles judge Wednesday to complete a 90-day residential substance-abuse and anger-management program.

Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin made the ruling after reviewing a probation report from the Rihanna case stating that a rehabilitation facility in Malibu had kicked out the 24-year-old singer because he threw a rock through his mother's car window on Nov. 10.

"There is much concern with the probationer's new arrest and his violent outburst that resulted in his discharge from a treatment facility," according to the probation report.

Brown was also ordered to perform 24 hours a week of community labor and submit to alcohol and drug testing.

The Los Angeles court appearance was Brown's first since he was arrested last month for allegedly assaulting a man in Washington, D.C. A 20-year-old man claimed Brown slugged him after he tried to get a picture with the singer.

Brown was charged with misdemeanor assault.

Brandlin ordered Brown not to leave Los Angeles County, but gave him permission to travel to Washington, D.C., if needed next week for a court hearing on the assault charge. Brandlin scheduled another hearing for Dec. 16, when a date will likely be set to consider a probation department report on Brown's most recent arrest.

Brown threw a rock through his mother's car window after they attended a counseling session in which she suggested her son remain in treatment, according to a letter submitted to the court by the rehab facility, which was not named.

"Mr. Brown proceeded to walk outside and pick up a rock and threw it through his mother's car window and it shattered," the letter states.

Brown pleaded guilty in June 2009 to assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury for assaulting Rihanna during an argument that began about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 8, 2009, while the singers were in a rented Lamborghini in Hancock Park after attending a pre-Grammy Awards party.

Brown was sentenced to five years probation, a yearlong domestic violence program -- which he completed -- and 180 days of community labor.

Brown's probation was revoked over the summer after he was charged with a pair of misdemeanors and an infraction stemming from a May 21 traffic crash in Toluca Lake. Those charges have since been dismissed, despite a city prosecutor's objection to a "civil compromise" in which attorneys said no money was exchanged between the parties.

His probation was reinstated in August, but Brandlin ordered the singer to perform an additional 1,000 hours of community labor.
