Malibu Adoptions Can Save These Lives

Consider giving these three dogs a forever home.

By Andrea Braver & J. Flora-Katz

With the speed of a meteor, Tripp flashes before your eyes, moving from one end of the play yard to the other.  No matter that he has only three good legs, this puppy has the verve to keep him going as if that fourth was working perfectly.  Fact is that Tripp has a deformity of his right front leg.  It doubles back upon itself and hangs loosely.  But, our super friendly,4-month old little fellow doesn't mind for a second.  He's too busy having fun.  And he'd sure like to have it with you.  Only 11 pounds currently, Tripp has some growing to do but promises to be a very manageable adult.  That's is you can catch him!  He's frisky, fun and absolutely endearing.  Doesn't that sound like a puppy you'd love to have in your home?  Tripp's Adoption ID # is 1426733.

Patience waits.  Sitting quietly, respectfully, attentively at the front of her big kennel, she appears so very small.  A perfectly-sized 28 pounds dressed in a perfectly-soft, shiny black coat, this little spaniel / lab mix is a total sweetheart.  Patience has a personality that unfolds the minute you show her the leash.  The excitement builds.  The tail begins to wag.  And our girl is ready to romp.  At two years of age, she's learned her manners and, while exuberant at times, can tone it down a few notches when you prefer her to be a quieter companion.  She's a beauty, a gem.  Innocence yearning for a family who will love her.  It's guaranteed that once you cross paths with this lady, you will lose your heart to her.  She's getting impatient for your visit so come down to the shelter as soon as you can.  Please and thank you.  Patience's Adoption ID # is A1422678.

No doubt you will think that Steele is part wolf when you meet him.  He's regal, statuesque, impressive and perhaps even imposing at first glance.  Long tall legs and a big boy body at 85 pounds.  But, take a second look and you will see one great big smile that lights up his face.  And yours.  And that is the impression that remains.  An oversized puppy at 6 years young with a heart of gold.  Just so happens that the woman who found Steele is a friend of a friend.  She explained how he came into her life, walking straight up to her door and wagging his tail.  Another dog passed by and Steele was so excited, hoping to have a playmate out for a stroll.  Turns out the other dog attacked Steele, chomping on his ear.  With little damage, thank goodness.   Steele quickly forgot about the incident and, later on, meeting another canine, our boy had better luck and a bit of a frolic.  Steele has been shaved down now but imagine how handsome he would look with a full coat.  He's got the most soulful eyes plus little ears that seem to be perpetually tucked down.  When they do pop up, Steele takes on a humorous appearance.  Such an odd mixture of parts yet so very handsome.  Steele loves everyone and wants to show you just how much.  Please come visit and let Steele steal your heart.  His Adoption ID # is A1426641.
