A singer/guitarist from the alternative rock band the Suburbs and the sister-in-law of actress Julia Roberts are being sued by two men over a traffic collision that occurred in Malibu two years ago.

Miguel Gonzalez and Meliton Lopez filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Blaine John "Beej" Chaney and Jyl Moder, a costume designer who is the sister of Roberts' husband, Danny Moder. The two men are seeking unspecified damages in the complaint filed Monday.

Representatives of Moder and Chaney could not be immediately reached.

According to the complaint, a 2004 BMW X5 carrying Chaney and Moder collided with a pickup truck in which the plaintiffs were riding near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road on Aug. 25, 2011, causing injuries to Lopez and Gonzalez.

Chaney is an original member of the Minneapolis-based band that was popular in the late 1970s through the '80s.
