Malibu High Teen to Olympian Gracie Gold: Will You Go to Prom with Me?

Prompted by the Sherman Oaks teen who asked super model Kate Upton to the prom last year, a Malibu High senior has his eye on American Olympian figure skater Gracie Gold.

Dyer Pettijohn uploaded his YouTube plea last night (see above), and already has more than 1,400 hits as of publication time.

“Watching you skate makes me realize how perfect we are for each other,” Pettijohn says from a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Here’s why:

Unlike the three-year difference between Upton and suitor Jake Davidson, Pettijohn’s friend Michael Jacobson thinks his buddy might have a real shot, as Gold is the same age as Pettijohn, 18, and didn’t get to have the regular high school experience.

“She’s 18. She lives in Southern California. I hope it all comes together,” Jacobson said.

No word yet from Gold, who took fourth in figuring skating at the Sochi Winter Olympics and who trains in El Segundo.
