Malibu Residents Fire Back at L.A. Times Editorial

The newspaper called the city's hospitality into question.

The Los Angeles Times raised the ire of Malibu residents with an editorial on the city's "parking problem," focusing on the concept of volunteers granted the ability to hand out parking tickets. The editorial, which ran Sunday, suggested a lack of hospitality toward the throngs of visitors to the beachside community.

Malibu has responded, according to the Times, in an article that ran earlier this week:

"A few Malibu residents took issue with the editorial board's view that the program 'is just one more way of making Malibu inhospitable to visitors.'," the Times wrote.
