Malibu to Host Wild & Scenic Film Festival

Films about kids saving parks, the bald eagle's return to Channel Islands, the glory of surfing, and a baby whale will be at the center of the upcoming Wild & Scenic Film Festival in the Malibu Civic Center this week.

The festival, which is put on by the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains, will kick off with gourmet food trucks and environmental exhibits at 5 p.m. Friday, July 19, followed by screenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., according to organizers.

The event is hosted by the City of Malibu and presented with the support of the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission, Pepperdine University and other partner agencies.
