Poll: Where Is the Best Malibu Burger Served?

Vote for the business that serves the best burger in Malibu.

Editor's Note: Since we had some new possible answers and some confusion regarding the poll from readers (this is the first one, it happens), Malibu Patch is extending the deadline to Sunday at 11:59 p.m. Look for the name of the winner Monday morning on Malibu Patch.

Malibu Patch received a large number of nominations for . Now, it's time to take that question to a vote.

The nominees are (in alphabetical order) , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

If your favorite is not on the list, send the name to jonathan.friedman@patch.com. It must be a 90265 business, and you better act quickly because the poll closes Friday at 9 a.m.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by me, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places (click on the links to the businesses above to post a review).

Please vote only once. If you have an urge to be heard several times, vote in the "Best Of" polls on other Patch sites throughout the country or wait until next week's poll on Malibu Patch.

Have fun!

Jonathan- I want to put Cafe Habana but afer all, I haven't sampled the Savory burger or many of the others...Malibu Kitchen? I think I need to do some reconnaissance before I can be fair... thanks for the great poll.....it is great at promoting the other restuarants.

It was a good ad for all of them! Had my veggie burger at Coogies yesterday!
Jonathan Friedman February 23, 2012 at 03:36 PM
I have added Lily's to the selection after receiving an email from somebody outraged that it wasn't on the list. The request for nominations was on Malibu Patch for about a week, so I found that to be rather strange.
Jonathan Friedman February 23, 2012 at 06:18 PM
I added Spruzzo. So if you're a Spruzzo fan, start voting and get your friends and family to do the same.

I've been a loyal fan of Coogie's Turkey Burger since they opened.

The Godmother is theeee besttttt...at all food ever conceived...you know that!
Bob Perkins DDS February 24, 2012 at 01:24 AM
Jonathan- the way I see it..Spruzzo's makes a good cheeseburger but not special enough to rank with Habana, or apparently Savory's. Love Godmother food as well....great ambiance.
Santos Flaniken February 24, 2012 at 06:18 AM
...no no no , the Canyon on Kanan and Troutdale, definitely the best burger at $6.95 hand made patty with oversized everything!
Santos Flaniken February 24, 2012 at 06:21 AM
...was 90265 years ago, but now over the line by about a mile, still worth it!
Alessandra DeClario February 24, 2012 at 06:32 AM
Well I don't know about the burgers at Lily's - but the breakfast burritos are simply THEE best! I get it without the bacon - YUMMY!!
Alicia Gonzalez February 24, 2012 at 07:42 AM

Godmother!!!!

Malibu Beach Inn! Worth every minute on the drive from Toluca Lake!
Tricia February 24, 2012 at 11:45 PM
Without a doubt it's Savory, their Wolfmother burger is the juiciest tastiest ever.
Patrick Brand February 25, 2012 at 12:42 AM
The best burger is at Kristys hands down!! For all of you who don't agree you obviously haven't had it yet. Onion jamtastic!!!
Mc Serna February 25, 2012 at 12:53 AM
I agree!! Kristys has the best burger hands down. It will change the way you look at burgers

Malibu Seafood has been added to the list. If you are a Malibu Seafood fan you better hurry up and vote ... along with at least 200 of your closest friends. The poll closes tomorrow at 11:59 p.m.
Eve Cooper February 25, 2012 at 05:48 PM
Malibu Beach Inn!! The best!
M Stanley February 25, 2012 at 08:14 PM
I'm a fan of Malibu Seafood, but can't vote as it doesn't show up on the side and the poll states that the voting is closed in the graph/figure. I left my vote on the business listing and review, does that count?
Jonathan Friedman February 25, 2012 at 08:18 PM
M Stanley, that was an error. The poll is back open again. Malibu Seafood is among the choices.
M Stanley February 25, 2012 at 08:33 PM
Thank you, I got my vote in and it served up the unintended consequence....I am now craving an Ahi Burger, along with several other selections that sound simply divine.
Bob Perkins DDS February 25, 2012 at 08:41 PM
MStan- An Ahi Burger doesn't count!! It has to be a "burger" as in ham or cheese variety. I can't speak for the originator of the poll but I think those ugly things he showed in the tin foil pan were all beef...no fish...no turkey, no buffalo.
Jonathan Friedman February 25, 2012 at 08:44 PM
Perkins, if we're counting veggie burgers, we have to count it. If it has a bun, or something that sort of looks like a bun—it's an eligible burger.
Bob Perkins DDS February 25, 2012 at 09:05 PM
I stand corrected and I take my just, public beating. How presumptuous of me!! But, it violates every fiber of my gastronomic being to include a non "beef" burger. What is the world coming to? Pretty soon we will be allowing tuna melts in discussion...there goes the neighborhood.
M Stanley February 25, 2012 at 09:50 PM
I love tuna melts!! Okay, I admit I had to weasel in the ahi burger, but for my personal tastes I'd much rather chomp on a true meat than mystery meat ground together with various gristle and body parts....visual enough for you? Here's one that might interest you to expand even further than the dreaded tuna melt (which is mighty good if you use real tuna in place of canned) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esz7yBi__74 We have these with blueberry ketchup and it sends you into paradise. I cut waaaay back on the fat though!
Bob Perkins DDS February 25, 2012 at 10:37 PM
Hey, mstan I, too, love the tuna melt.....Coogies for melts and fries!
pieter February 26, 2012 at 02:18 AM
Burgers (ahi, veggie, prime beef) at the Malibu Beach Inn are simply delicious and the setting is perfect - 100%!!!
Ali Mac Graw February 26, 2012 at 06:45 AM
For well over 20 years I have found the Godmother's hamburger to be the best one in Malibu. It's my first stop when I visit Malibu from Santa Fe...which is many times a year. Ali MacGraw
Koa Cruz Parker February 27, 2012 at 04:58 AM
Godmother is by far the best!
