Quadriplegic Surfer Jesse Billauer to Lecture at Malibu Library

In his youth, Jesse Billauer was on a fast track to becoming one of the top professional surfers.

From a city of Malibu announcement:

On Wednesday, April 23, Jesse Billauer will give the fourth lecture in the 2014 edition of the Malibu Library Speakers’ Series. Through funding set aside by the county of Los Angeles, the city of Malibu and the Malibu Library will host Billauer at the Malibu Library Community Room

In his youth, Jesse Billauer was on a fast track to becoming one of the top professional surfers. By the mid-1990s, Surfer magazine named him one of the top 100 up-and-coming surfers in the world.

After a surfing accident 18 years ago left him quadriplegic, Billauer dedicated his life to inspiring individuals to look at their lives in a more thoughtful and thankful way. He is the founder of a non-profit organization called Life Rolls On. Billauer’s organization allows paralyzed individuals to look at the possibilities beyond paralysis.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free. Reservations are required by calling 310-456-6438.
