As the awesome and holy day of Rosh Hashana rapidly approaches, and the feeling of awe is already in the air, it is an opportune time for each of us to focus on the blockages in our lives as well as the light and love that we all hope and wish to have in our own lives and to share with those we love in the coming year.
In my recent studies and preparation for Rosh Hashana – I’ve once again been reminded of the unbelievable opportunity that awaits each of us at the time of the sounding of the Shofar. During this time, the one responsible for blowing the Shofar is called upon to not only use the air of his breath and not only engage the depth of his heart but to engage in a meditative process that focuses on the new expression of the Divine infinite light and energy entering our universe.
Several people have asked that their names and specific blessing request, be present with me at the time that the Shofar is sounded. Please know, that the wellbeing of every citizen in our beautiful city, our country and our world, will be in my thoughts and prayers, as I sound the Shofar
To make a vessel for the fulfillment of your request, I ask that you take upon yourself at least one additional act of goodness and kindness that you will resolve to do in the coming 13 months. In return, may G-d bless you, your families and your loved ones with a year overflowing with magnificent blessings.
On behalf of my wife Sarah, and our children and our community, I extend to you our blessing: May you and yours be blessed for a year of health, wealth and true contentment.
You are welcome to join us at Chabad to hear the sound of the Shofar. For more information about times please visit us. Please note we will not be responding to emails during the Rosh Hashana holidays.
