Malibu-based nonprofit Safety Harbor Kids is putting all their hopes on Funny Car Driver Alexis DeJoria, who is taking part in the Toyota Racing Dream Build Challenge.
The top vote getter of the challenge will win a $50,000 prize for their charity. DeJoria, who is competing for Safety Harbor Kids, is one of four drivers taking a Toyota Tundra pickup and turning it into a desert racer, according to Petrie Alexandra Williams of Safety Harbor Kids.
Voting will take place Oct. 20-30 and fans can vote once a day and win prizes including a Toyota Racing "Dream Trip," Williams said.
Safety Harbor Kids helps educate parentless and homeless children in the areas of college, career, music and the arts.
