Malibu's much loved celebrity Dick Van Dyke celebrated his 87th birthday Thursday.
Van Dyke, who is probably best known for his roles in "Mary Poppins" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show," was born Dec. 13, 1925 in West Plains, Missouri, but he has lived in the Serra Retreat neighborhood of Malibu for several years.
The actor, singer, dancer has put retirement into high gear with his performances with The Vantastix. A performance in September benefited the Malibu Stage Company.
He also recently wrapped up work as a producer on Cabaret, which was put on by the Malibu Stage Co.
Van Dyke also decorates his home every Halloween and opens it up to the entire Malibu community for a few hours of trick-or-treating.
In February, Van Dyke married make-up artist Arlene Silver, 40.
