"A Nightmare on Elm Street" Cast Reunion and Screening

The following is an edited press release from the city of Agoura Hills:

The public is invited to join cast members at the A Nightmare on Elm Street reunion celebrating the legendary series. The cast and crew will be participating in the Los Angeles premiere of I am Nancy, a film by executive producer and actress Heather Anderson, the Malibu resident who played teenage insomniac Nancy Thompson in Wes Craven's 1984 horror classic. The special Halloween-themed evening takes place at the Regency Stadium 8 Theatre in Agoura Hills.

Among the celebrity cast members who will participate in the program are Nightmare alumni: actress Amanda Wyss who played Tina Gray in the original Nightmare, Jsu Garcia who played Tina Gray's son, John Saxon who played Nancy's father in the Nightmare series, Miko Hughes who played Nancy's son Dylan in New Nightmare, Ira Heiden who played Will Stanton in Nightmare 3, Tuesday Knight who played Kristen Parker in Nightmare 4 and JoAnn Willettewho appeared in Nightmare 2. In addition, other artists related to the film, writers, producers and songwriters will be attending and available to discuss their work. 

Joining cast members will be celebrities and recording artists of the horror film genre, including John Philbin, Michael Kenworthy and Beverly Randolph, who starred in the Return of the Living Dead series and Felissa Rose, who appeared in Sleepaway Camp. Celebrity surprise guests are also anticipated.

Directed by Arlene Marechal, I am Nancy is a 70-minute documentary that pays tribute to the genre fans who make up the horror flick subculture and has powerfully influenced motion picture trends over the past three decades. The film includes interviews with Robert Englund and Wes Craven, whose daughter Jessica will attend the screening.

Nightmare has been recognized by People magazine as the "Fifth Most Popular Horror Film Of All Time." This is Anderson's second production examining the horror film craze. Her first film Never Sleep Again, The Elm Street Legacy, was awarded for its spotlight on the relevance of heroes and the modern age of monster lovers.

The Regency 8 Theater is located at 29045 Agoura Road in Agoura Hills. Tickets are $10 with student ID; $15 advance purchase and $20 at door. They can be purchased from the Agoura Hills Department of Recreation at 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd. in Agoura Hills.

Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. The program starts at about 6:30pm with the celebrity panel Q&A and the screening of I am Nancy. A closing question and comment discussion will follow with a special showing of the original Nightmare.
