"A Touch O' the Irish" Thursday (March 17th) and Friday (March 18th) at MAHMA!

There are still a few spots open for these St Patrick’s Day events on both Thursday, March 17th (7:00 pm), and Friday, March 18th (8:00 pm) in the MAHMA Music Room.

We hope to see you for this wonderful event, (be sure to wear green!) entitled, “Green with Envy: St. Patrick’s Day Tales and Other Stories!” MAHMA is proud to present beloved works by Brahms, Ralph Vaughan William, Gabriel Faure, Cesar Franck and Alfred Newman, inspired by all things green! Perhaps a little leprechaun might even tiptoe through MAHMA’s Music Room!

The masterworks to be presented on our “Green with Envy” event will be performed by one of the world’s most esteemed pianists, Delores Stevens, the celebrated and passionate American cellist, Michael Fitzpatrick, and the renowned and ardent harpist, Allison Allport. (What is St. Patrick’s Day with out a harp, especially when it is played with such zeal)!

Joining our inspirational guest artists will be MAHMA’s own Wendy Prober, Maria Newman and myself (Scott Hosfeld). Back by popular demand, Dr. Victoria Stevens will enchant audiences with her insightful commentary on the program and its origins.

...And for a delightful taste of MAHMA 2011, we will screen a 7-minute silent film short, entitled, “Street Scene.” Imagine waking up to a sleepy St. Patrick’s Day morning in the heart of New York City... The people, the buildings, the smells, the sounds of New York fill the senses. With music by Alfred Newman, 9-time Academy Award-winning film composer, who can beat silent film with live music for a St. Patrick’s Day treat!

Now let’s talk art! The brilliant Russian-born painter, Ann Krasner, continues her not-to-be-missed show of an exceptional library of oils! This weekend is the culmination of Krasner’s innovative show here at MAHMA. Do not miss this opportunity to meet and speak with one of the most unique painters of our time!

Doors open at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening, and 7:00 pm on Friday evening for the art show and reception. Arrive at MAHMA early enough to enjoy your wine and cheese while strolling from masterpiece to masterpiece.

When you combine fabulous paintings with great musical masterworks, St. Patrick’s Day tales, enlightening commentary, and a comedic taste of New York City, what better offerings can be found anywhere but in Malibu!

Below is the information you will need. Please RSVP by phone (310) 589-0295, or email to make a reservation!

With the warmest of regards to you all, dear friends! Erin go Braugh!
