Roses for Southern California Gardens

The Malibu Garden Club is pleased to have Master Consulting Rosarian Dan Bifano at our September meeting.

Dan is a Master Rosarian and has grown roses for over 50 years.  He is also a Horticultural and Arrangement Judge for the American Rose Society and judges nationally and internationally.  He has been designing professionally for about 20 years in Santa Barbara, Malibu and Bel Air. 

If there is an A-List of clients for a rosarian then it belongs to Dan Bifano.  If you don't know about him - he's been on the Oprah show many times where she refers to him as "Dan the Rose Man"  and brought to life her Legend Rose.  He is in Barbara Streisand's own book and takes care of her multi-acre rose garden and helped her choose the rose that bears her name.   

A cocktail has been named after him, though don't ask your local bartender to mix this one up. The Dan Bifano is a custom organic mix of alfalfa meal, cottonseed meal, fish meal, blood meal, chicken manure and worm castings -- stirred, not shaken.  The exact amounts of the fertilizer ingredients are a well-guarded secret.
