Traffic Safety and Movie Night at Bluffs Park

The Harry Barovsky Memorial Youth Commission will host a screening of Sixteen Candles on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at . The screening will be preceded by two traffic safety events hosted by the local grassroots organization A Safer PCH.

At about 4:30 p.m., the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station will bring a traffic safety display featuring a totaled car as well as videos and other interactive features to educate young people. Sheriff's officials and possibly California Highway Patrol officers will be there to speak about traffic safety.

At about 5 p.m., a ceremony will take place to present a bench dedicated to , who was killed last year at age 13 when she was struck by a vehicle while walking on Pacific Coast Highway near the Heathercliff Road intersection. The bench is funded by the .

The movie screening is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person. There will also be pizza, drinks and ASPCH merchandise for sale. Attendees should bring blankets and chairs for the screening.
