Local Students Perform in Special Winter Concert

Malibu High School and Middle School Band & Orchestra performed in a series of winter concerts this week.

The performances on Dec. 12-13 marked the first time the entire orchestra and band have played together, according to MHS teacher Maia Zander.

“This is the first year our string players are at a high enough level to combine with the band program and do full orchestra pieces. I love seeing them rise above the standard and level of what should be possible and do professional level, unbelievable performances," Zander said.

The High School concert featured the High School Wind Ensemble, Strings, Full Orchestra and Jazz Band with guest soloists Hailey Hoffman and John Kibler.

The Middle School Band and Orchestra Concert featured the Middle School Wind Ensemble, Strings, Full Orchestra and Jazz Band.
