Malibu Offers Adult Acting Classes

A Pepperdine University professor and actor will teach the eight-week long classes at Malibu City Hall.

Malibu's Parks and Recreation Department will offer an acting class at the Malibu Civic Theater in Malibu City Hall, starting next week.

"Life Stories-An Introduction to Acting" will begin Wednesday, January 30 at 7 p.m. and run through March 20 for adults 18 and over, according to Leanna Parish, the city's recreation coordinator. The cost is $205 over the eight weeks.

Teaching the class is Pepperdine University adjunct professor and seasoned actor, director and writer Scott Alan Smith.

Smith has worked with companies including HBO, CBS and ABC. He has also held roles in popular television shows such as Private Practice, The Young and the Restless, NCIS, CSI, Prison Break, True Blood, and Philly.
