Tickets went on sale this week for the Malibu Music Awards, featuring performances by Cherie Currie and Benny Hester.
The event is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University in Malibu.
Benny Hester will be honored this year with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Contemporary Christan Music and Cherie Currie with the prestigious Rock Legend Award.

Hester is known for his songs "When God Ran" and "Nobody Knows Me Like You." Currie was the lead vocalist of The Runaways, a rock band from Los Angeles, in the mid-to-late 1970s.
Both will be performing at the Awards show with other celebrity appearances and special guests.

Host and MC for the evening will be actor Robert Hays.
The Malibu Music Awards raises money to help support the Malibu Symphony Association as well as local children's music programs.
