Malibu Auto Service and Kelly Higgins....a Malibu Treasure

It's that time again.....and let me be clear from the start that this guy has absolutely no knowledge that I am doing this..it is as far as you can get from "paid advertising".

If you need some service on your auto any time soon...think no farther than Malibu, right on Cross Creek..Malibu Auto Service...heck, not many small towns are blessed with a business like this but, right behind Anawalt lumber (another fantastic local business)...we have one that has exceeded all my expectations.

With all the underwhelming human behavior that goes on in our world, it is almost a moral imperative that we point out the things and people that are doing it "right".

When I pull into Malibu Auto Service at the end of Cross Creek, and see the canopy of Sycamores down at the end...I almost feel like I am in the town of Mayberry.  This is as "local" as you are going to find.  You can almost imagine a "Floyd's Barber Shop" being "right over there, yonder". 

If Malibu Auto Service is like a business from Mayberry, then Kelly Higgins, the proprietor, is like Andy Taylor, played by Andy Griffith.  He is just all you could ask for in a business owner...personal care, and a great deal of knowledge, dispensed honestly.  I have actually been shocked at how affordable my bill was on a recent visit.  He always makes me feel like I am his most important customer, which is obviously not true, but that is part of his charm, because a thoughtful business owner makes everyone feel like they are the "most important".
