: A crash just north of Tunnel 1 has led to fallen power poles and the closure of Kanan Dume Road in both directions, according to authorities. The Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station got the call at 11:41 a.m. Saturday morning, according to sheriff's Lt. Patrick Mathers.

A sports car reportedly hit a roadside pole, knocking it down and bringing live electric lines onto the road. The car overturned, and rescuers flew at least one person out by helicopter, reports City News Service.

A lieutenant at the CHP traffic center said the latest estimate for Kanan to open back up was 2:30 p.m.

City News Service reports that two people were seriously injured in the crash. CHP and Edison remain on scene, Mathers said. An alert from Malibu Emergency Services advises residents to avoid Kanan Dume Road altogether or expect delays.

Drivers heading to Malibu were diverted to Latigo Canyon Road, a winding back road. Northbound traffic was being turned around and sent five miles back to Pacific Coast Highway, then west to Encinal Canyon Road, reports City News Service.
