Construction Crane Strikes Power Lines, Leaves Nearly 500 Without Electricity

An outage left 490 Southern California Edison customers without power Tuesday in Malibu.

The outage, which began just before 11 a.m., was impacting properties along Malibu Road.

Power was restored by 5 p.m., according to SoCal Edison.

The outage was caused when a crane constructing a home fell on some power lines, according to Nancy Rodriguez Casanova, an Edison spokeswoman.
