Best Place for a Burger? Godmother

The longtime Malibu business offers a turkey burger from heaven.

Voters selected  as Malibu's best place for a burger in  that closed Sunday night. The Godmother Dolores Rivellino has been in business in Malibu for more than three decades, with her current location being at the . One does not have to be a club member to enjoy the heavenly burgers.

Godmother offers a turkey burger with avocado, cheddar and grilled onions. It is served with a mixed green salad and kettle chips (or regular Caesar salad or spicy slaw for $2 extra) for $13. The restaurant also serves a sirloin burger, an original special from chef that is ground and prepared to his specifications.

The restaurant is open for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner is served until the summer on Friday and Saturday only from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. A brunch is available Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are accepted for all hours and there is a wine and beer bar. Godmother is also well-known for its catering service.

The local business received 39 percent of the nearly 1,000 votes in Malibu Patch's burger poll. Coming in second place was the  with 32 percent support.  nudged out  for third place.
