Gas Prices Breach the $4 Mark in L.A. County
The rising prices have been attributed to the start of production of the more expensive summer blend of gasoline.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County reached the $4 mark today for the first time since Sept. 24, increasing 2.4 cents to $4.
The average price has increased 22 of the past 23 days and is 4.6 cents more than one week ago and 27.2 cents higher than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price is 24.5 cents less than one year ago.
The average price has reached $4 in one other region in the state, San Luis Obispo County, where it is $4.038.
