Longtime Malibu Surfside News Staffer to Remain Involved With Paper

Former Malibu Surfside News staff writer Suzanne Guldimann has agreed to continue to work with the new owners of the Malibu Surfside News when it relaunches this October.

The Malibu Surfside News released Wednesday its full list of new hires for the relaunch of the 37-year-old newspaper this October. 

“We couldn’t be more excited about the staff we have for the Malibu Surfside News,” 22nd Century Media Managing Editor Heather Warthen said. “We are really looking forward to bringing back this publication to the people of Malibu.”

As Malibu Patch reported Tuesday, Natalie Ragus has been named the new editor of the Malibu Surfside News. Ragus has a master’s degree in online journalism from the University of Southern California and graduated in 2004 from California State Polytechnic University. Ragus is the former editor for Arcadia Patch and freelance contributing writer for WEHOville in West Hollywood.

She will be joined by Assistant Editor Ashleigh Fryer, a recent graduate of Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and minor in anthropology. While at BU, Fryer was a writer and editor for BU Today, the university’s official news and features website.

The publication is scheduled to relaunch in late October.
