Malibu Author Paul Almond to Discuss New Book

"The Pilgrim," is the fourth in the series, The Alford Saga, which follows a settler's family through 200 years of Canadian history.

Longtime Malibu resident and director Paul Almond will discuss his latest novel, the fourth in a series about Canadian history through the eyes of a settler's family, in Malibu next week.

Almond, who is known as a pioneer in his own right in Canadaian broadcasting and film, will appear at a special publication party for "The Pilgrim" at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Diesel Bookstore in Malibu.

According to trailer, the novel follows Jack Alford on the shores of the Canadian Labrador in 1896. The other books in the series cover 200 years of Canadian history.

This weekend, the store will host a "Thank you, Malibu" party from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. All books in the store will be 20 percent off during the party, according to organizers.
