Savory Begins 'Kids Night Out'

Half of proceeds will be given to Malibu's public schools.

Owner and Executive Chef Paul Shoemaker has started up "Kids Night Out" on Monday nights from 5 to 7:30 p.m through December.

"We know parents are busy, especially with kids going back to school, so, we thought, how can we help?" Shoemaker said. "At the same time, it gives us a chance to let kids know that the fresh produce on their plate is not only great tasting, but that it comes from the incredible landscape around us. It's an opportunity to expand taste buds, as well as minds."

The cost is $10 per child and includes fresh, seasonal cuisine of an entrée, a side, a beverage and dessert, according to Lawrence Moore, a spokesman for the restaurant.
