Here's the latest roundup of retail, restaurant and other business news and happenings in L.A.'s Westside neighborhoods and Malibu.

Sprouts

Santa Monica's busy streets now have another form of transportation with pedicab rides being offered from the newly permitted L.A. Bike Taxi. The business began offering rides Thursday. Pedicabs, used mostly by tourists, are known by other names, like cycle rickshaws. They are similar to taxi cabs, but are human-powered.

Along with fried pickles and sweet potato tots, Pork Belly's Sandwich Shop held its soft opening in Venice this week. The Belly Up, its signature sandwich is a slow smoked pork belly topped with its homemade barbecue sauce and coleslaw on a perfectly warmed brioche roll.

Napoletana-style pizza restaurant Settebello Pizzeria opened the doors of its newest location in Marina del Rey. The restaurant franchise specializes in making pizza "Napoletana" style, which is cooked for one-minute in 1000-degree wood-fired ovens.

The opening date was pushed back more than six months, but "pasta lab" Bucato is definitely set to open before the end of July in Culver City. The space used to be a laundry back in the 1930s and that’s why it's chef says he wants to call the restaurant Bucato—the Italian word for laundry.

Just in time for summer's heat, the inaugural Chilly Ribbons store will open in Westwood in August. It's shaved snow and is distinguished from other frozen treats by the way it's made and delivered.

San Francisco-based Gracias Madre, a Mexican vegan restaurant, is set to open this fall in West Hollywood.

What's another coffee shop on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica? Groundwork Coffee aims to come to the neighborhood by the end of August, reports EaterLA

Shutters

Souleiado
, a French country boutique on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood has closed its doors after 17 years. The owner is holding a final sale up until the last day, July 30, where additional discounts will be applied to store items.

Porta Bella, an upscale furniture store in Brentwood has left its space on San Vicente Boulevard and relocated to Barrington Court in Brentwood Village. the new tenant at the San Vicente space has not been announced.
