Protesters will hold a third rally this week to speak out against the upcoming closure of Point Pizza in Malibu.
The protest outside of Point Pizza at the Point Dume Village on Heathercliff Road at Pacific Coast Highway is set for 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, according to organizers.
Last month, some 300 protesters rallied outside of Point Pizza, which is owned by Hye Song Oh. The popular pizza place is scheduled to close in December when its lease expires.
Hye Song Oh has said she wants to stay at the location. Point Dume Village owner Zan Marquis has said he wanted to bring in a new local operator, D'Amore's, as part of an effort to bring healthier options to the center.
The Point Pizza ownership has said they offered healthier options over the years.
Some protesters have asked that D'Amore's and Marquis tear up the lease and keep Point Pizza in business.
"It's about time to pull it together and show Zan that we aren't going to back down," organizer Andy Borenzweig wrote on the Save Point Pizza Facebook page, which has 1,929 members.
