Big Surf to Peak This Weekend [Video]

A high surf advisory is in effect for westward facing beaches in Malibu, where up to a half an inch of rain is expected through Sunday, according to forecasters.

Big surf from a series of Pacific storms is expected to peak Friday night and into Saturday on western facing beaches in Malibu, according to the National Weather Service.

A high surf advisory is in effect through 10 p.m. Sunday, with swells between six to 12 feet expected on western facing beaches, the NWS reported.

Up to a half an inch of rain, most in the form of showers, is expected in Malibu through Sunday, according to forecasters.

"Surf and swell conditions will be hazardous for anyone entering the water early [Friday morning] through this weekend, with dangerous rip currents expected," forecasters warned.
