A cold storm will bring hazardous surf conditions, a strong rip current and gusty winds to western facing Los Angeles County beaches, including in Malibu, starting Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued a coastal flooding statement for western facing shores ahead of expected gale force winds that will begin Tuesday afternoon and continue through Wednesday morning.
The tide will peak at 4.42 feet at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday in Malibu and reach nearly 5 feet early Wednesday morning.

A wind advisory has been issued for Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning with winds from 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph expected.
The high on Tuesday will reach in the low 50s with overnight lows in the 40s, according to the NWS. More rain is expected in the region by this weekend.
