Recycle Your Christmas Tree

The city of Malibu's Christmas tree recycling program takes place through Jan. 14.

The following is an edited release from the city of Malibu:

Each year, the city of Malibu participates in a green waste recovery program sponsored by Los Angeles County. Please assist us by recycling your tree this holiday season. You may drop it off through Jan. 14 at one of the two locations listed below or cut it to fit inside your green waste bin. For special collection options, contact your solid waste hauler directly (fees may apply).

Remove all of the following items prior to recycling:

  • Water Containers
  • Metal Stands
  • Ornaments
  • Tinsel and Lights

Flocked and fire-retardant trees are also accepted.

  • Bring your tree to 29136 Pacific Coast Highway near Heathercliff Road or to (eastside cul-de-sac).
  • Place tree in your green waste recycle bin. Remove all ornaments and lights, cut tree to fit into green waste bin.
  • Contact your hauler directly for special collection at curb (fees may apply for this service).
