Gusty winds are forecast for the Malibu area through Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
A wind advisory is in effect through 2 p.m. Thursday, the NWS reported.
Wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected in Malibu between county line and Pacific Palisades.
"Since the ground is saturated from recent rains and the soils are loosened, residents need to be aware of the possibility of trees being blown down which could cause additional property damage," forecasters said.
