Malibu City Council Election Results: Incumbents Return to Office

Malibu City Council incumbents Lou La Monte and Laura Zahn Rosenthal sailed back into office easily after Tuesday’s election.

With seven of seven precincts reporting and all the absentee ballots counted – although the results are still considered unofficial – Rosenthal had the most votes with 1,427, according to the city’s website. La Monte followed with 1,399 votes.

The nearest challenger was Andy Lyon with 981, followed closely by Hamish Patterson with 972 votes.

June Louks trailed considerably with 522 votes.

These results do not include provisional ballots or vote-by-mail ballots turned in at the polls, according to the city's website. Results are deemed unofficial until certified by the City Clerk.
