Bestselling Author T. C. Boyle at Bank of Books Malibu

New York Times bestselling author T. C. Boyle will sign his latest book T. C. BOYLE: STORIES II and
the new paperback edition of his acclaimed novel SAN MIGUEL at Bank of
Books Malibu on Saturday, September 28 at 2 PM.

Attendees at the signing will be able to purchase copies of STORIES

II
in advance of the book’s October 3 release date.

T.C.BOYLE: STORIES II gathers work from Boyle’s three most
recent collections of short stories, along with fourteen new tales previously

unpublished in book form.  Written over
the last twenty years, the stories reflect Boyle’s maturing themes: along with
the satires and tall tales that established his reputation, the reader will
find stories speaking to contemporary social issues, by turns mythic and realistic,
farcical and tragic, ironic and moving. The book also includes a preface
written by Boyle in which he looks back at his larger career as an author.  T. C. BOYLE: STORIES II is a grand
statement from the man Kirkus Reviews recently called “one of the best
storytellers at work today.”

Available in paperback for the first time, Boyle’s New York
Times bestselling novel SAN MIGUEL is set on that tiny,
desolate, windswept island off the coast of Malibu.  The book is an absorbing work of historical fiction based on the real lives of two families who actually lived on San

Miguel Island, one in the 1880s and one in the 1930s. In Boyle’s novel, both

families come to the island to start new lives and pursue dreams of self-reliance,
dreams that founder against the reality of the island’s brutal isolation and
unforgiving elements.
