Dagmola Sakya, Tibetan Woman Lama

Dagmola Sakya is a rare female teacher, trained in old Tibet, and living the life of an American householder, wife, mother and grandmother. She came from a family of brilliant Tibetan Buddhist lamas, doctors and practitioners and from early childhood  was the recipient of their wisdom. As a beautiful teenager, in a love match which has persisted till this day, she married one of the heads of the great Sakya lineage. She, with her husband, H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche, lead the Sakya Monastery in Seattle: www.sakya.org. You can read some of her spellbinding story in the book "Princess from the Land of Snows."

In our evening together she will tell us of the extraordinary role Tara has played in her even more extraordinary life, followed by a recitation of the brief
Green Tara prayer used by Tibetan Buddhist practitioners.

There will be time for questions and answers and to personally talk to Dagmola. She is  gracious and wise and speaks fine English. This is an opportunity to interact with someone from a beautiful and near-vanished culture.
