Dog Days of Summer Event! Malibu Author Lou Spirito Signs Gimme Shelter at Barnes & Noble

It’s the Dog Days of Summer! To celebrate, local author Louis Spirito will appear at Barnes & Noble Thousand Oaks with his best friend Tanner on Saturday, August 3 at 11:30 AM to sign his new book Gimme Shelter

Gimme Shelter is the story of a good dog who tamed a bad owner The volatile Spirito and the frightened pit bull puppy named Tanner that he adopted from the Agoura shelter seemed the unlikeliest of companions: Spirito had a history of flying off the handle at the slightest provocation, and Tanner was a physically and emotionally scarred rescue who vomited whenever he was stressed, which was most of the time. It wasn’t always easy, and it wasn’t always pretty, but over time the puppy helped Spirito recognize and overcome his own emotional scars, the ones that led to his chronic anger. And Tanner came to trust and to love the kinder, gentler man that Spirito had become. Their story will touch your heart.

A lifelong dog lover, Louis Spirito is a screenwriter, playwright and journalist. He lives in Malibu with his wife Eugenie and their best friend, Tanner. Spirito is donating 10% of all his profits for Gimme Shelter to animal rescue groups.
