Book Discussion: Approximating Prudence
Dr. Andrew Mr. Yuengert, Professor of Economics at Pepperdine University, discusses his new book, Approximating Prudence: Aristotelian Practical Wisdom and Economic Models of Choice at Payson Library’s Kresge Reading Room. The economic model of choice is a powerful tool, applied widely in economic analysis. Approximating Prudence outlines the limits of the economic model by comparing it to a more comprehensive account of reasoned choice: the account of practical wisdom in the Aristotelian tradition. Joining Dr. Yuengert in a discussion of this book will be Dr. Mason Marshall, Professor of Philosophy at Pepperdine, and Dr. Jon Burke, Professor of Economics.
