Local author Steve Moore Discusses Special Agent Man at Barnes & Noble

Local author Steve Moore will discuss and sign his new book Special Agent Man: My Life in the FBI as a Terrorist Hunter, Helicopter Pilot, and Certified Sniper on Sunday, November 11 at 2 PM at Barnes & Noble Thousand Oaks.

FBI. Special Agent Moore.”  For over twenty years, Steve Moore watched people tremble when he flashed his badge  – even the innocent ones. A helicopter pilot, certified sniper, and terrorist hunter, Moore thrived on the adrenaline that accompanied that badge, traveling the nation and then the globe to investigate crime and arrest the criminals responsible. As an agent in the Salt Lake City and Los Angles offices - and eventually the supervisor of al Qaeda investigations in LA - Moore was front and center at some of the most notorious FBI cases of the past two decades. In Special Agent Man, he gives a first-hand account of some of those cases, including the chilling tale of a planned attack on a Los Angeles-area oil refinery that Moore and his team thwarted at the last minute.

Special Agent Man is not only a memoir of Moore’s exciting life in the FBI, but an appreciation of his fellow agents, the “uniformly competent, overachieving group of people” who work 24/7 to keep our country safe. While Moore admits to suffering from what veteran agents call “lights and sirens syndrome”  - the wide-eyed thrill of the chase common to new agents – he readily acknowledges the toll that his work took on his health and his family. Now retired from the Bureau, he lives in Thousand Oaks with his wife Michelle and their three children.
