Free Screening of "The Gatekeepers"

Our "Engaging Israel" program kicks off with a special screening of the Academy Award-nominated documentary The Gatekeepers,
which features interviews with all six heads of Israel's Shin Bet, the
country's internal security service. We invite you to join us for a free
screening of this event.

Even if you do not (yet) plan to attend the entire iEngage series, you are invited to this free kickoff event. Please RSVP to bryna@mjcs.org or call 310-456-2178.

ENGAGING ISRAEL: SESSION ONE

Place: Small Sanctuary

What is the morality of war? Of occupation? Is a two-state solution
viable? Can Israel survive as a “Jewish and democratic” state? What is
our task as a “light unto the nations” in a Middle East roiled by
conflict? The Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem houses some of the
best minds in Israel. Through participation in this interactive program
of video, text study and discussion, we can share the latest and most
relevant issues facing the sovereign state of Israel and the Jewish
people as we move forward in the 21st century.
