Opening Reception on October 5th for the Art Exhibition "Gay Summer Rick: Series in Night and Day" at bG Gallery in Santa Monica

Please join bG Gallery for the Opening Reception of the art exhibition: "Gay Summer Rick: Series in Night and Day", on Saturday, October 5th between 6:00PM and 10:00PM, at bG Gallery (Bleicher/Golightly/Gorman), 1431 Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. (Complimentary valet parking in the building during the reception.)
This will be the gallery's third solo exhibition of paintings by Malibu artist Gay Summer Rick. For her new ‘Series in Night and Day’, Gay has created paintings inspired by her travels up and down LA's coastline. She has stopped on roads and highways across Malibu, Santa Monica, and Venice absorbing the nighttime and daytime urban and coastal views.
With palette knives and oil paint, Gay’s signature overlay of colors, which meld impressionism and abstract color-field painting, speak as much about the emotion evoked by a place as they do about the place itself. Two different cities are evoked through paint: one bathed in color and sunlight between veils of fog, and one where the color seeps in behind the darkness of night.
The exhibition will run from October 3rd through October 30th (closed for one day on the 10th for a private event). For more information, contact bG Gallery (Bleicher/Golightly/Gorman): 310.451.9983
