Holiday Safety Means Being Present

OK, so everyone's concerned about safety during the holidays. As well, they should. But living here in Malibu means to be safe all the time. And the only way to be safe is... to be present. But, what does that mean?

The reason people get into accidents is because they aren't paying attention to what's happening around them. And that's our journey as we grow as human beings. To become "more aware." To see things better, every day. And we here in the Bu are good at it.

Case in point. , and yesterday I headed to Santa Barbara and as I came upon an intersection in Oxnard, a man blew through the red light only to get t-boned by a 50 mph SUV. Now, they were both OK surprisingly, but it became very clear to me that the answer to holiday safety is simply this:

Worry and fear cause us to rush, to always be in a hurry. Therefore, we're not at peace and we're going to attract things to us that cause harm. So give yourself the time to "take your time." Think of all the great things you'll see along the way, like our beautiful coastline.

Be present, and get the gifts that you can only receive in the present.
