Making Lasting Change in Your Life

There are people all around the world who have made lasting change in their life.  Some have become sober after addiction;  some have become healthier after years of physical neglect; other examples exist.

What is the difference between those who make change just for a short time and soon return to old behaviors from those who make change and see it last through the years?

Honestly, there are many parts in an answer to that very important question. But here is one of the most underestimated, but hugely significant secrets to creating lasting change in your life.  Don’t do it alone!

From the very first book of the Bible, God says you were made for community.

You and I were made to NEED support and we were made to GIVE support.

When you approach the task of changing your life in a way that lasts and lasts, it will take more than just you alone.  We will all need support for this.

The truth is, you need a buddy.

EVERYBODY NEEDS A BUDDY.

For example, what if your goal for the new year is to get in the best possible physical health that you can--here’s what you do:

Enlist a family member or friends, get a co-worker to join you on this journey to health.  Meet together.  Share your struggles, celebrate your victories.  Research proves that lasting change happens when you have support around you.

You might say, one of these days I’m going to change all by myself.  Well, if you could have, you would have; you’ve tried, but you can’t, so the truth is you won’t.  You need help.  So do I.

Built into the human spirit is a truth God intended from the very beginning, WE ARE ALWAYS BETTER TOGETHER.
