Malibu Adoptions Can Save These Lives

Consider giving these two doggies a forever home.

Candy

Come on, Malibu and Santa Monica friends, we cannot let her be put down!  There's no Candy sweeter than this girl.  The back story is that she accompanied a homeless man on his journey around the streets of South L.A. and that he had to surrender her, just couldn't take care of her any longer.  Our Supervisor offered to hold on to her for him, said come back in a few months.  And though he loved Candy, he said he just couldn't do that.  It's hard to imagine turning away from this face.  Even at 12 years of age, Candy can match even the puppies at the shelter in terms of their cuteness quota.  She's unique.  No one can quite figure out her breed.  She's got the scruffy hair of a terrier but not the body.  Some say cattle dog, but that doesn't seem quite right either.  The only thing certain is that Candy is scrumptious.  She's an independent soul who enjoys being with her people and yet is content to be on her own without whining.  She seems to be quite fond of other dogs, wagging her tail non-stop when she sees them.  Surely Candy has stories to tell.  If you adopt her, chances are that she would love to share them with you.  Please consider this dear sweetheart.  Candy's Adoption ID # is A1420596.

Maggie

Maggie is truly magical.  Abracadabra.  Watch her change from a plain brown middle-aged dog into an ingenue, a flirt..  She's a girl who has weathered her share of storms.  And, on those days when it wasn't stormy, more than enough sunshine.  But, don't let that scraggly coat, skinny body, and fly-struck ears fool you.  Maggie is still a very young dog at 6 years of age.  There's a quiet joy mixed with a desire for fun in this precious soul that is immediately apparent when you meet her in person.  Call and she will come up to the front of her kennel, initially revealing a moment of hesitation.  And then, with a faster pace.  As soon as she makes the connection that you are there for a visit and, hopefully, some time in the play yard, Maggie will start to wag her tail and even wiggle with delight.  She is absolutely darling, a wonderful dog who soon leaves inhibitions behind and rolls over for a belly rub.  She'll circle you, looking for a way to crawl into your lap.  Maggie is the perfect size, 38 pounds, and was surrendered to the shelter along with another dog friend.  She is searching for a new family now and is so deserving of finding the perfect home.  Maggie's Adoption ID # is A1416370.
